Job Summary

SkillWave LLC is seeking a seasoned corporate lawyer to join our team as the Head of Legal. This role will be responsible for managing the company's employment-related legal matters, litigation, and other legal issues as they arise. The successful candidate will also advise the President and Executive Chairman on legal matters and assist in procurement and compliance programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic legal advice to the President and Executive Chairman on employment matters, litigation, corporate governance, and other legal issues.
  • Develop, draft, and implement compliance policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Advise the People and Culture team on employment law matters.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and government authorities as required.
  • Manage litigation, including eDiscovery and external litigation counsel.
  • Cross-functional project management.
Requirements
  • Called to the bar in Canada or the United States.
  • Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience as a corporate lawyer.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience drafting and reviewing contract terms and conditions.
  • Transaction management experience an asset.
  • International experience an asset.
What We Offer

A competitive salary in the range of $120,000 to $150,000, based on the minimum level of work experience and qualifications. This salaried position requires a minimum of 40 hours of work per week.
