Job Title: Counter Salesperson
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Counter Salesperson to join our team. As a Counter Salesperson, you will provide exceptional sales support to walk-in customers, maintain a clean and organized sales counter, and provide support to our Inside Sales and Outside Sales functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist customers with purchases at the sales counter
- Research and recommend products to customers
- Drive sales growth through counter merchandising and product promotion
- Enter, pick, and pack sales orders
- Maintain and clean the sales counter area
- Inform the buyer of low stock levels
- Follow up on backorders with vendors and provide customers with accurate delivery dates
- Process returns and warranty claims
- Navigate and resolve customer concerns and complaints
Requirements:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; college and/or university degree an asset
- Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service or counter sales
- Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills
- Excellent relationship building skills with customers, vendors, and teammates
- Ability to learn and operate software systems
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Intermediate math skills with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to learn material handling equipment
- Strong work ethic and high standard of integrity
- Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience with plumbing and building products
- Ability to use the Internet for problem-solving
- Experience with Trend, Eclipse, Word, Excel, and Outlook
