About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team at 2779571 Ontario Inc. as a Cashier.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Cash Register: Accurately process transactions, handle cash, credit, and debit payments, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Greet customers, respond to their inquiries, and resolve any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Stock Shelves and Clean Counter Area: Maintain a clean and organized store environment by restocking shelves, sweeping, and mopping the floor.
  • Process Transactions: Scan items, calculate totals, and handle returns and exchanges in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Work Under Pressure: Remain calm and composed in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple transactions and customer inquiries simultaneously.
  • Participate in Promotional Activities: Assist with in-store promotions, sales events, and product demonstrations to drive sales and increase customer engagement.
  • Support Newcomers and Refugees: Participate in initiatives that support the settlement and integration of newcomers and refugees, such as language training and job placement programs.
  • Support Youth Employment: Participate in programs that support youth employment, such as on-the-job training and mentorship opportunities.
  • Support Indigenous People: Participate in initiatives that support Indigenous people, such as cultural competency training and Elders' support programs.
  • Support Visible Minorities: Participate in initiatives that support visible minorities, such as diversity and cross-cultural training programs.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous Retail Experience: Previous retail experience is an asset, but not required.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously is required.
