Responsibilities

  • Analyze projects as a whole to plan and estimate costs effectively;
  • Prepare preliminary schedules for construction projects;
  • Interpret technical specifications from bid documents correctly;
  • Participate in supplier and subcontractor research and bid calls;
  • Communicate with project stakeholders and establish business relationships with suppliers, professionals, and subcontractors;
  • Estimate material, labor, equipment, tooling, and subcontracting costs using project management software;
  • Prepare bid proposals;
  • Produce final submissions for clients;
  • Coordinate project closure with project managers;
  • Collaborate with the project team for project start-up (project manager, foreman, etc.);
  • Contribute to updating databases (technical data, references, or suppliers);
  • Participate in integrating and maintaining project management software;
  • Attend meetings to establish estimation strategies;
  • Perform other tasks related to the position.

Requirements

  • DEC in estimation or electrical engineering or related field;
  • 2 years of experience in a similar position;
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license;
  • Excellent command of French and English, spoken and written, for communication with partners outside Quebec;
  • Available for on-site work on construction sites, as needed;
  • Familiarity with common computer programs;
  • Familiarity with Maestro software (asset);
  • Familiarity with Quebec construction laws, regulations, and codes, as well as the Canadian Electrical Code.

  • Strong interest in the construction industry;
  • Excellent analytical and interpretation skills for plans;
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in French and English;
  • High level of rigor, resourcefulness, and ability to work under pressure;
  • Autonomy and organization;
  • Attention to quality and detail.
