The Cybersecurity and Governance Risk Manager and their team are tasked with overseeing the cybersecurity controls, methodologies, and risk assessments, alongside ensuring compliance with the standards upheld by American Iron and Metal. This role involves evaluating, designing, and implementing best practices in business processes to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency. The manager will analyze workflows, processes, and reporting data to gauge the effectiveness of existing business practices.
Reporting directly to the Senior Director of IT and Cybersecurity, the responsibilities of the Cybersecurity and Governance Risk Manager include:
- Facilitating continuous enhancement and adoption of the information security governance framework.
- Overseeing the cybersecurity methodology and maintaining the risk register.
- Ensuring the robustness of the governance framework, including policies, standards, and procedures.
- Engaging in the initial phases of projects to identify and communicate security concerns, ensuring compliance with standards and effective risk management.
- Conducting regular and proactive reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) while maintaining business Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Leading and coordinating initiatives related to process quality and efficiency to ensure the continuity of best practices and quality improvements across all IT domains (Operations, Applications, and Project Management Office).
- Managing the process and lifecycle of significant incidents and issues.
- Overseeing the Change Advisory Board (CAB).
- Developing and updating documentation for policies, standards, procedures, processes, work instructions, and other tools to support execution.
- Collaborating across functions to assess and enhance the entire process lifecycle.
- Managing the development, goals, and training of team members.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity governance, risk, and compliance (GRC).
- At least 5 years of experience leading initiatives in process analysis and redesign using Lean methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience in guiding teams through process analysis and redesign efforts.
- Strong analytical abilities with a talent for translating data into actionable insights and presenting projects for management evaluation and prioritization.
- Capability to convey complex processes in straightforward terms to various cross-functional stakeholders to secure their approval and establish priorities.
- Proficiency in prioritizing and managing multiple projects, both large and small, with competing deadlines, while providing progress updates to management.
- Significant skills in process enhancement, business transformation, customer service, communication, leadership, problem-solving, and team development.
- Experience in applying security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, COBIT) and standards (e.g., NIST, GDPR, Law25).
- Ability to work on deliverable projects with minimal supervision and present progress and outcomes to the Director for approval.
- Lean certification and cybersecurity experience are advantageous.
