Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Culinary Specialist to oversee food preparation and cooking activities within our establishment. This role requires a strong background in culinary arts and the ability to lead a team effectively.

Educational Requirements
  • Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain comprehensive records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
  • Analyze operational costs and other relevant data to optimize kitchen efficiency.
  • Demonstrate innovative cooking techniques and equipment usage to kitchen staff.
  • Develop and create new recipes to enhance our menu offerings.
  • Instruct kitchen personnel in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of dishes.
  • Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty items for events such as banquets.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and ensure adherence to food safety standards.
  • Regularly prepare and cook meals or specialty foods for guests.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies as needed.
  • Coordinate equipment purchases and repairs to maintain kitchen operations.
  • Consult with clients regarding menu planning for weddings, banquets, and special events.
  • Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities across multiple dining venues.
  • Ensure that all food meets quality standards and dietary requirements.
  • Prepare dishes accommodating customers with food allergies or intolerances.
  • Recruit, hire, and train kitchen staff in food preparation and safety protocols.
  • Lead and instruct team members in culinary practices.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervision of a team comprising 3-4 kitchen staff members.

Work Environment
  • Fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Physical demands include handling heavy loads and standing for extended periods.
  • Requires bending, crouching, and kneeling.
Personal Attributes

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 7 months to less than 1 year of relevant experience is preferred.

This is a permanent position with a work schedule of 35 hours per week.
