We are currently in search of a Senior Vice President, Climate Adaptation Strategist to assist our clients in managing their environmental and operational challenges while expanding our service offerings in response to evolving market demands and regulatory requirements. This role will involve close collaboration with specialists from our Global Climate and Sustainability Services Team.
In this position, you will report to the Head of Climate Resilience and will work to enhance our commercial clients' climate adaptation strategies in an ever-evolving landscape. Our approach focuses on providing risk prevention and mitigation services to proactively address complex challenges.
Key Responsibilities • Collaborate with the North America sales network to support client acquisition and discussions regarding environmental hazards and climate change.
• Identify and respond to relevant Requests for Proposals (RfPs).
• Coordinate and facilitate the delivery of climate adaptation services on a global scale.
• Review and implement quality assurance measures for climate adaptation services provided to clients.
• Train and support the local and global network of climate specialists.
• Assist the Global Development Team in creating tools, processes, and knowledge to enhance awareness both internally and externally.
Required:
• A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience in Risk Engineering within the fields of natural, environmental, or atmospheric science or engineering.
OR
• A High School Diploma or Equivalent with at least 10 years of experience in Risk Engineering in the relevant disciplines.
OR
• A Zurich Certified Apprentice, including an Associate's degree, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in Risk Engineering related to natural, environmental, or atmospheric science or engineering.
AND
• Comprehensive knowledge of risk exposures, controls, and best practices for risk enhancement.
Preferred:
• In-depth understanding of sustainability and climate risk regulatory frameworks.
• Familiarity with climate change science and its practical applications.
• Experience in consulting services or a commercial mindset with the ability to identify service opportunities and a strong customer service focus.
• Excellent project management, coordination, and communication skills.
• A collaborative team player.
• Proficient in technical written and spoken English, with strong customer service orientation; proficiency in additional languages is an asset.
• Solid understanding of practical engineering and organizational measures for natural hazards and climate adaptation.
• Ability to convey complex concepts clearly and persuasively to various levels of management and stakeholders with differing technical expertise.
• A business-oriented mindset combined with exceptional technical skills to foster business development in the local market.
• Identify and engage potential clients, supporting local sales teams.
• Collaborate with the global Climate and Sustainability Services team to develop new offerings, such as biodiversity risk assessments and urban resilience evaluations.
• Monitor market and regulatory trends related to climate risk and sustainability reporting.
• Advise clients on analyzing and communicating risks associated with environmental hazards and climate change, as well as developing adaptation strategies.
• Participate in events and technical committees to position Zurich 56 Company Ltd as a leader in climate and sustainability solutions.
