Job Title: Medical Care Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Care Assistant to join our team at Résidence des Peupliers (2012) inc.

Job Summary:

The Medical Care Assistant will provide high-quality patient care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

Responsibilities:
  • Take patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
  • Assist with serving meal trays and feeding patients
  • Make beds and maintain patients' rooms to a high standard
  • Bathe, dress, and groom patients with dignity and respect
  • Transport patients safely and efficiently using wheelchairs or stretchers
  • Respond to call signals to determine patients' needs and provide assistance
  • Administer first aid in emergency situations, following established protocols
Requirements:
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Work setting: Rural area, willing to relocate, and experience working in hospitals or home for the aged
  • Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Moving Patients Safety Principles (MPSP) training, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate
  • Security and safety: Criminal record check
  • Transportation/travel information: Own transportation
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail, walking, and weight handling up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
  • Personal suitability: Client focus, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, initiative, interpersonal awareness, judgement, organized, reliability, and team player
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months, permanent position, 40 hours per week, and bilingual (English or French)
