This role reports directly to the Director of Pharmacy Operations and encompasses the responsibilities of receiving, preparing, and delivering prescriptions with precision and timeliness. You will ensure that inventory levels are sufficient to meet patient needs and provide counsel with proper documentation to all patients. Your role will also involve fostering friendly, proactive interactions with both internal and external customers while promoting awareness and education through public relations initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and mentor pharmacy staff
- Manage hiring processes and evaluate staff performance
- Ensure the financial and operational success of the pharmacy department
- Accurately prepare, dispense, and manage medications for patients
- Maintain adequate inventory levels of medications and over-the-counter supplements
- Provide patient counseling on new and existing medications in a supportive manner
- Engage in community outreach and educational initiatives (public health days, clinics, etc.)
- Address patient needs and physician requests promptly and positively
- Analyze budgeted sales and net contributions
- Identify and report potential sales opportunities
- Monitor and control costs across all pharmacy operations
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, registered with the ACP, injection certification, and APA required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a retail pharmacy setting
- Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership abilities with a focus on motivating and coaching team members
- Outstanding customer service skills and a high level of professionalism
- Proven experience in utilizing community-based marketing strategies to grow the business
- Effective problem-solving skills with a track record of implementing action plans
- Proficient in personal computing, with knowledge of Healthwatch being an asset
