St. Alexander Drugs Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Family Medicine Specialist to join our team. As a Family Medicine Specialist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages, from infants to seniors. Your expertise will be invaluable in helping us deliver high-quality patient care and improve health outcomes in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze medical information from patients, family members, and other healthcare professionals to identify health issues and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Conduct thorough physical examinations to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions, from minor illnesses to complex chronic diseases.
  • Develop and implement health promotion and disease prevention strategies to help patients maintain optimal health and well-being.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory tests and imaging studies, to inform treatment decisions.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including specialists and community health workers, to ensure seamless patient care and coordination.
  • Prescribe and administer medications, as well as provide vaccinations and other preventive care services.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote excellent patient care.
  • Supervise and mentor junior healthcare professionals, including medical students and residents, to ensure they receive the training and support they need to succeed.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of a family medicine residency program or equivalent experience.
  • Current licensure to practice medicine in the province or territory where the position is located.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex medical information and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
