About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Pladec Day Care Centre. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to our young students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Child Care and Education
    • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
    • Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers.
    • Engage children in activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
  • Supervision and Leadership
    • Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers.
    • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
    • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Order supplies and equipment.
    • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
    • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
  • Professional Development
    • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children.
    • Establish and maintain knowledge of licensing regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years.
  • Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • CPR Certificate.
Work Environment
  • Work setting: Day care centre or nursery school.
  • Repetitive tasks.
