Diesel Mechanic Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at SOUTHVIEW TRUCKING LTD. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines, as well as maintaining and repairing heavy equipment and farm machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, including fuel injection systems, exhaust systems, and cooling systems.
  • Maintain and repair heavy equipment, including hydraulic-operated working attachments, compressors, pumps, and electric generators.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair problems with diesel engines, including major internal engine repairs and overhauls.
  • Install and align engines and machinery.
Requirements:
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, with regular exposure to dust and heavy equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
