Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facility Patient Care Director to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective delivery of clinical health services and facility operations for a site/local geographical area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership to staff to achieve operational priorities, including financial sustainability, patient flow, patient experience, quality/safety, and staff engagement.
  • Ensure strong communication pathways between onsite staff, scheduling, and managers.
  • Reassign staff or request unit/department to provide service to care for patients/residents/clients.
  • Foster/facilitate interdisciplinary, collaborative relationships to ensure a high standard of patient/resident/client care.
  • Support system flow by facilitating transfers to and from other facilities based on capacity management protocols and patient/resident/client needs.
  • Make decisions and ensure availability of staff based on sick calls and required short-term scheduling impacts to maintain safe operation of clinical services.
  • Support implementation and change initiatives.
  • Manage emergency situations that arise and support staff well-being and communication protocols based on approved algorithms and pathways.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience in a patient/resident/client care setting.
  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant health discipline from an accredited post-secondary education institution.
  • Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to model care and service with compassion and respect.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg (25 pounds).
  • Travel to other healthcare facilities within the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority may be required.
