About the Role

Morgan Construction and Environmental (Ltd.) is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Northern Ontario. As an Excavator Operator, you will play a crucial role in the dynamic world of heavy civil construction, working on various projects that require expertise in earth moving and grading.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment, including excavators, to perform earth moving and grading tasks in a hard rock mining environment.
  • Load haul trucks with materials and ensure efficient delivery of materials to project sites.
  • Build to design specifications, adhering to project guidelines and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with ground personnel to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure efficient delivery of materials and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Champion our safety culture by adhering to Morgan's Safe Work Procedures and PPE policies.
  • Adhere to project specifications and guidelines to maintain quality standards.
  • Showcase your exceptional judgement and problem-solving skills to overcome challenges on the job site.
  • Demonstrate your versatility by collaborating effectively with team members and independently taking ownership of tasks.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent experience operating an excavator (336,349, 390, 470,670, 1250).
  • Experience as an excavator operator in the hard rock mining and/or heavy civil earthworks and mining industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise with technical specifications, grade plans, and building roads.
  • Worked on all types of ground conditions, including soft ground and hard rock.
  • Ability to finish or trim would be an asset.
  • GPS experience would be preferred.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Must have (or be willing and able to obtain) CSO, Intermediate First Aid, and Ground Disturbance level 2.
  • Provide your own steel-toed 6" lace-up boots (CSA Approved).
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs repetitively and safely.
  • As this is a safety-sensitive position, alcohol, drug, and fit-to-work assessment is a pre-employment requirement.
Working Conditions

  • Expect to handle noise and vibrations on the job.
  • Must be able to work up to 12 hours a day.
  • Must be able to work day or night shifts.
