The Director of Trust Accounting plays a pivotal role in ensuring the success of Benefit Solutions and People Corporation by delivering exceptional client experiences through a digital-first approach.
This leadership position requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in accounting and finance, as well as exceptional leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing dispersed and complex teams, influencing for results, and driving change.
The Director of Trust Accounting will be responsible for leading a team of trust accountants, ensuring regular and timely reconciliations, and maintaining or enhancing current financial controls. They will also serve as the liaison for audit and tax preparation with accounting firms.
The successful candidate will have a university degree or college diploma in business, accounting, finance, or a related field, and successful completion of CPA/CA designation. They will have seven to ten years' experience in an Accounting leadership role, ideally in the group insurance industry.
The Director of Trust Accounting will be a change agent, experienced in leading teams to overcome obstacles and drive change. They will have exceptional leadership capabilities, including managing dispersed and/or complex teams and a positive track record of influencing for results.
The ideal candidate will be a proven people leader with high EQ, demonstrated abilities relating to coaching, mentorship, and the development of a learning & development mindset amongst teams.
This role will actively contribute to the growth of the Benefit Solutions division through delivering on shared service expectations and addressing and solving real-time business challenges.
