Overview

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Server Engineer to join our team at Zeni Max Media, Inc. and contribute to the development of our next-generation game engine.

As a Senior Server Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, high-performance server systems that meet the demands of our fast-paced game development environment.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement multithreaded server systems that optimize performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine game engine features.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality server-side code that meets our rigorous testing standards.
  • Work closely with designers and artists to ensure seamless integration of server-side functionality.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to inform our game engine development.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on client-server applications.
  • Expertise in building multithreaded, multi-process systems that meet real-time performance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of client-server message passing architectures and their application in game development.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex system issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Skills

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with low-level socket programming and its application in game development.
  • Knowledge of reflection and code generation systems, and their use in game engine development.
  • Experience with compression algorithms and their optimization for game engine performance.
  • Expertise in Unix/Linux/Win32 operating systems and their application in game development.
  • Experience with the persistence of distributed systems and their use in game engine development.
