Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to support the daily maintenance and operations of our schools. As a Custodian, you will play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Building Maintenance:
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including changing lights, shoveling snow, and cleaning and inspecting roofs.
    • Operate grass cutting equipment and perform minor repairs.
    • Conduct health and safety checks and service rooftop units.
  • Building Cleaning:
    • Operate and maintain all cleaning equipment.
    • Perform all minor and major cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces.
  • Education and Requirements:
    • Minimum grade 12 diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding.
    • Mechanical aptitude with experience in one or more trade disciplines, such as plumbing, electrical, or carpentry.
    • Exemplary interpersonal, professional, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to use a computer and software applications, such as Google Suite and SmartFind.
    • Experience handling machinery, such as buffing machines, lawn mowers, and snowblowers.
    • Knowledge of proper usage of hazardous chemicals and cleaning supplies.
    Working Conditions

This is a casual position, working on a call-in basis, Monday to Friday, with typical afternoon shifts. Summer hours may involve working during the day. The daily rate is $20.31 per hour, plus vacation pay, and the long-term assignment rate is the same.
