Security Shift Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Shift Manager to join our team at Elements Casino Victoria. As a Security Shift Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our security operations on a shift basis, ensuring a safe and secure environment for our team members and guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and direction to the security team on a shift basis, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Respond to, resolve, and escalate security issues as required, maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion.
  • Assist in the implementation of security strategic plans, contributing to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and document security incidents, preparing reports and statements as necessary.
  • Review inspection reports and take appropriate action, escalating issues as required.
  • Conduct training for security operations, recommending training opportunities and efficiencies.
  • Provide input for team member performance objectives and evaluations, promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive experience for all guests.
  • Prepare and submit monthly Staff Resource Planning Proposals for special events, implementing them as directed.
  • Develop and cultivate strong working relationships with all stakeholders, including team members, guests, and external partners.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and other statutory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Security Officer experience required, with previous security management or supervisory experience an asset.
  • Must be willing to recertify for Use of Force every 3 years.
  • Occupational First Aid Level 2 an asset.
  • A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and graveyards.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office.
  • A passion for providing outstanding service to internal and external guests.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution capabilities.
  • A willingness to learn, develop, and achieve new skills for personal and professional growth.
  • Can understand, speak, and write English; fluency in other languages an asset.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Serving It Right certification or ability to obtain.
  • Ability to successfully obtain a criminal record check through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB).
