Position Overview
The City of Mississauga is seeking dedicated individuals to join our dynamic team in providing exceptional service to our community. As a Community Centre Operator III, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of various recreational facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain cleanliness across facilities by performing essential cleaning tasks including mopping, sweeping, trash collection, and disinfecting.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed by monitoring environments, conducting safety checks, and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Oversee ice maintenance and public skating sessions, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all users.
- Assist with painting and special projects as needed.
- Support basic pool maintenance tasks under the guidance of full-time staff, including chemical management and equipment checks.
- Monitor facility activities and report any operational issues to senior staff.
- Enforce facility regulations to maintain a respectful environment.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment and facilities to ensure their longevity.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including revenue drops and float verification.
- Complete necessary documentation such as time sheets and maintenance logs as required.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and assisting patrons during events.
- Minimum age of 15 years.
- Previous experience in community service or related fields is preferred.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Current Emergency First Aid/CPR certification required within six months of employment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks in various weather conditions.
- WHMIS certification required within six months of employment.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently.
- Experience in Operator I or II roles may be required on occasion.
- Certification in CPO and Basic Refrigeration is an asset.
Compensation:
Community Centre Operator III: $18.92 per hour
Community Centre Operator II: $21.08 per hour
Community Centre Operator I: $24.85 per hour
Work hours: Up to 40 hours per week
Location: Various facilities throughout Mississauga
