Island Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to become a vital part of our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be expected to meet the following essential qualifications and skills:
Essential Qualifications:- Registered with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as an active LPN registrant
- Completion of a perinatal education program along with a breastfeeding course, or possess at least one year of recent acute perinatal experience for relevant positions
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is mandatory for perinatal roles
- Completion of additional training as specified by BCCNM for Mental Health and/or Substance Use (MHSU) roles
- Strong communication abilities with patients, families, colleagues, and the community
- Proficient in interpersonal relations and conflict resolution
- Excellent organizational capabilities and adeptness in executing care plans
- Demonstrated expertise and competencies to function at the full scope of practice, including medication administration
- Ability to utilize relevant medical equipment and effectively perform the physical responsibilities of the role
