Island Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to become a vital part of our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be expected to meet the following essential qualifications and skills:

Essential Qualifications:
  • Registered with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as an active LPN registrant
  • Completion of a perinatal education program along with a breastfeeding course, or possess at least one year of recent acute perinatal experience for relevant positions
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is mandatory for perinatal roles
  • Completion of additional training as specified by BCCNM for Mental Health and/or Substance Use (MHSU) roles
Key Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong communication abilities with patients, families, colleagues, and the community
  • Proficient in interpersonal relations and conflict resolution
  • Excellent organizational capabilities and adeptness in executing care plans
  • Demonstrated expertise and competencies to function at the full scope of practice, including medication administration
  • Ability to utilize relevant medical equipment and effectively perform the physical responsibilities of the role
