English Content Editor

CGTN is seeking a skilled English Content Editor to join our team in Beijing, China. As a key member of our editorial team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of written content for our broadcast TV news programs.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with directors, producers, and other stakeholders to maintain the creative vision and integrity of CGTN.
- Develop and refine compelling English-language content that meets the standards of a broadcast TV news environment.
- Assist editorial leaders in maintaining the creative vision and integrity of CGTN.
- Work closely with other team members to determine the most creative and editorially accurate solutions.
- Edit copy to ensure scripts are easy to understand, interesting, creative, and compelling.
- Correctly format scripts and view video and graphics to ensure scripts and images are in sync.
- English as a first language speaker with a valid passport.
- At least 2 years of related experience with strong editing skills, including accuracy, balance, language, and style.
- Ability to produce quality work quickly.
- Flexibility to adapt during breaking news and ability to adapt to program or anchor style and rewrite when necessary.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding live/24-hour news environment.
- Ability to work irregular hours and work an extended schedule as the news cycle and deadlines require.
