Job Description

As a Co-op Analog Design Engineer at Renesas Electronics, a successful candidate will play a key role in developing the company's flagship Optical Interconnects products. The primary focus will be on the design and characterization of broadband linear Drivers and TIAs, utilizing advanced Cadence design and optimization techniques, extensive lab work, and Python scripting/automation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop high-performance broadband linear Drivers and TIAs
  • Characterize and optimize device performance using Cadence design tools
  • Conduct extensive lab work to validate device performance
  • Develop and implement Python scripts for automation and data analysis
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product development
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Working towards a M.A.Sc. / PhD student in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience with BiCMOS and CMOS technology
  • Experience/working knowledge in Cadence/ADS and related EDA tools
  • Experience with EM modeling
  • Coursework in circuit analysis and Optical/RF communications theory
  • Good understanding of frequency domain signals analysis, including BODE plots, FFTs, spectrum analysis
  • Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and function generators
  • Familiarity with Python
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
