Job Summary

The Speech Language Pathologist will provide high-quality Speech-Language Pathology services to patients, consistent with professional standards and best practices. This includes assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and education of communication and swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and diagnose communication and swallowing disorders in patients
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to address communication and swallowing disorders
  • Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and research in Speech-Language Pathology

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university
  • Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Manitoba (CASLPM)
  • Membership in professional organizations such as Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) and the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training

Preferred Qualifications

  • Competence in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and values

Work Environment

  • May be required to work extended hours
  • May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, radiation, toxic materials, noise, allergens, physical and emotional stress, etc.
