Health Information Processing Clerk

We are seeking a skilled Health Information Processing Clerk to join our team at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of patient information.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct quantitative analysis to ensure the accuracy of patient records and maintain an electronic tracking system for deficient patient charts.
- Perform data entry functions for various clinical registries and/or databases, and assist physicians in completing patient documentation by performing quantitative analysis.
- Provide reception duties, including answering telephone calls, transferring calls, taking messages, and answering routine inquiries.
- Sort and distribute mail (paper and electronic), and retrieve, organize, and file patient records, reports, and other documents.
- Answer inquiries regarding patient information in accordance with legislative statutes, IHA, and established policies, procedures, and guidelines for Release of Information.
- A current 5 Minute Typing Test with a speed of 55 wpm or greater, completed within the past 48 months from a recognized institution.
- Proof of completion of a Medical Terminology Course.
- Your Resume indicating two years of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- A Cover Letter stating your availability to start in a new position and on-call, casual work.
