The Director of Education is a key member of our team at Sylvan Learning - Abbotsford, BC. This role is responsible for delivering a high-quality educational experience to our students by ensuring their ongoing needs are met and our programs are delivered as designed.
Key Responsibilities- Program Delivery: Ensure that our education programs are delivered by teachers as designed, and that students receive a personalized learning experience.
- Student Progress: Monitor student performance, meet regularly with families, and connect with school teachers to ensure the application of skills learned in the classroom.
- Teacher Support: Observe and coach teaching staff to ensure robust instructional experiences, and provide ongoing learning opportunities to motivate and develop staff.
- Center Operations: Serve as the point-of-contact for customers and manage Center operations when the Center Director is unavailable.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field from an accredited university.
- Experience: Minimum of one or two years of teaching experience, with experience in a supervisor role preferred.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of current BC educational curriculum and policy, as well as previous retail and/or sales experience.
- Skills: Proven ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students to learn, strong customer service and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Work Schedule: 8 hour shifts, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend shifts for marketing events.
- Benefits: Vacation and paid time off, extended health care, and dental care.
