Food Service Attendant

We are seeking a dedicated Food Service Attendant to manage orders and serve meals and beverages to our patrons.

The ideal candidate enhances the dining experience for guests. We are looking for an individual who possesses the patience, personality, and determination to excel in this position.

Key responsibilities include welcoming and serving guests, providing comprehensive information on menu items, juggling various front-of-house tasks, and processing payments. If you thrive in a bustling environment, we would like to hear from you.

To succeed as a Food Service Attendant, you should be courteous to our guests and ensure they have an enjoyable dining experience. You should also be a collaborative team member and effectively communicate with our Kitchen Staff to guarantee accurate and timely order delivery.

Note that the role may require working in shifts and occasionally during weekends and holidays.

Ultimately, it is the responsibility of our Food Service Attendants to deliver an outstanding overall dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities
  • Welcome and guide customers to their tables
  • Present the menu and provide detailed information when requested (e.g., regarding portions, ingredients, or potential allergens)
  • Set up tables with linens, silverware, and glassware
  • Inform guests about daily specials
  • Offer menu suggestions upon request
  • Encourage additional purchases when appropriate
  • Accurately take food and drink orders using a POS system, order slips, or from memory
  • Verify customers' IDs to ensure they meet age requirements for alcohol consumption
  • Relay order details to the Kitchen Staff
  • Serve food and beverage orders
  • Inspect dishes and utensils for cleanliness and presentation, reporting any issues
  • Maintain a tidy dining area and arrange table settings
  • Deliver checks and process payments
  • Transport dirty dishes, glasses, and utensils to the kitchen for cleaning
  • Meet with restaurant staff to discuss daily specials, menu changes, and service details for reservations
  • Adhere to all relevant health department regulations
  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience as a Food Service Attendant
  • Practical experience with a cash register and ordering systems (e.g., Revel POS or Toast POS)
  • Basic math proficiency
  • Attention to detail and patience with customers
  • Excellent presentation abilities
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the capacity to perform well in a fast-paced setting
  • Active listening and effective communication skills
  • Team-oriented mindset
  • Willingness to work in shifts
  • High school diploma; food safety training is advantageous
