In your capacity as the leader of the People and Culture division, you will collaborate to create a premier organization alongside a dedicated team aimed at maximizing employee potential. The ideal candidate will possess a background in developing people and recruitment initiatives within a rapidly expanding startup environment.
Role Overview:
The primary objective of the Head of Human Resources is to facilitate Rose Rocket's successful expansion. This role emphasizes fostering a positive culture through initiatives and practices established by the People team. Additionally, the Head of Human Resources will be instrumental in cultivating diverse teams throughout Rose Rocket. They will serve as a visionary in implementing programs and practices that enhance culture, nurture employees, and attract and retain top talent.
This position will also collaborate with leaders across the organization to assist them in team development, make informed people-related decisions based on analytics, and establish robust communication pathways within our workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Leadership and the People and Culture Team to refine and implement the long-term strategy for the People and Culture function, focusing on engagement, recruitment, and retention
- Uphold our core values, ensuring that all People and Culture decisions, initiatives, and processes align with our cultural principles
- Direct the Talent Acquisition Team to attract exceptional talent in line with workforce strategies and objectives
- Lead the People and Culture team, ensuring high engagement levels, alignment with our long-term strategy, efficiency, goal execution, and budget adherence
- Implement company-wide performance management systems that promote a high-performance culture and encourage ongoing, transparent feedback
- Develop scalable learning and development initiatives that enhance our team's capabilities, support retention, and prepare high-potential employees for leadership roles
- Partner with leaders to identify and anticipate hiring and development requirements
- Prepare workforce strategies and organizational frameworks that align with business objectives
- Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations
- Work with external legal advisors on employment matters and regulatory compliance
- Analyze and report on Culture, People, and Talent Acquisition metrics to support effective planning and decision-making
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in Human Resources/People/Talent roles
- 3+ years of experience leading and managing a People/HR/Talent team in a high-growth technology environment
- Proven track record in delivering impactful, values-driven programs related to performance management, compensation, employee engagement, retention, culture, and talent acquisition
- Experience in establishing talent acquisition programs and processes
- Exceptional emotional intelligence, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Strong understanding of Canadian employment laws, HR policies, and best practices
- Demonstrated experience in implementing equitable and inclusive practices throughout all work phases
- Proven ability to drive change within management teams in high-growth startup settings, aligning people strategies with organizational values and goals
