About the Role

The Head of Human Resources will be responsible for leading the HR Department and its associated programs and functions in support of corporate goals and objectives. This will involve strategically planning and evaluating HR programs, overseeing the development and implementation of company policies and procedures, and engaging the organization in achieving its business and people objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement HR strategies and procedures to support business objectives.
  2. Promote continuous corporate improvement and develop leadership capacity.
  3. Manage and develop HR staff, including workload management, delegation, and performance evaluation.
  4. Facilitate workgroups, teams, and meetings in a positive environment.
  5. Provide direction to all levels of management and employees on HR-related issues.
  6. Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, practices, processes, and systems.
  7. Oversee hiring, orientation, performance management, employee engagement, and terminations.
  8. Direct talent acquisition practices and procedures.
  9. Manage succession planning activities.
  10. Develop and coordinate compensation strategies.
  11. Guide the development and maintenance of health and safety strategies.
  12. Direct training and development activities to ensure workforce flexibility and skills improvement.
  13. Monitor HR-related documentation for accuracy, consistency, and relevance.
  14. Represent the organization in lawsuits, grievances, and complaints.
  15. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
  16. Support HR-related M&A initiatives and requirements.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in business, HR, or a related field.
  2. Minimum 10+ years of experience as an HR generalist in a multi-disciplined environment.
  3. Minimum 5 years of senior leadership experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment as a senior HR professional.
  4. Bilingual (English and French) is preferred.
  5. Certified Human Resources Professional designation.
  6. Strong knowledge of current employment law matters and a commitment to diversity management.
  7. Proven track record of success in staff management, benefits administration, recruitment, training, and employee relations.
  8. Effective communication with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  9. Superb writing and content development skills.
  10. Ability to identify developmental needs of employees and provide coaching, mentoring, and other support.
  11. Excellent time management and project management skills.
  12. Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  13. High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning.
  14. Strong morals and ethics, along with a commitment to staff privacy.
  15. Knowledge of principles, theories, and techniques related to employee relations, personnel management, and recruitment.
  16. Must be willing to travel and have a valid passport for US travel.
