Food Production Worker

We are seeking a skilled Food Production Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our patients, clients, and customers.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in cooking and food preparation, with a minimum of one year of experience in a similar role. You will be required to work effectively in a team environment, following established policies and procedures, and to use sound professional judgment and initiative to resolve problems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve high-quality meals to patients, clients, and customers
- Work effectively in a team environment, following established policies and procedures
- Use sound professional judgment and initiative to resolve problems
- Ensure a safe and respectful work environment
Requirements:
- Grade XII or equivalent
- Minimum one year experience in cooking and food preparation
- Successful completion of Food Handlers Course within the past five years
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other staff, clients, and management
- Willingness to learn, accept direction, and work effectively in a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to use sound professional judgment, initiative, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness, and organizational health
- Physical capabilities to perform duties of the position, including heavy lifting, working flexible hours, and withstanding the demands of walking and standing during shifts
- Travel between sites will be required
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
