Position Overview
The Occupational Therapist plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for clients by working closely with individuals, their families, and caregivers. This position involves assessing, planning, and implementing therapeutic interventions aimed at restoring and maintaining optimal functioning in daily activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine clients' needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
- Provide direct therapeutic services in various settings, including hospitals and community environments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for clients.
- Educate clients and their families about treatment processes and strategies for improvement.
- Supervise and mentor Occupational Therapy Assistants and students in clinical settings.
Qualifications
- Graduation from a recognized Occupational Therapy program.
- Current licensure with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia.
- A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience.
- Certification in CPR is required.
- Strong understanding of mental health disorders and therapeutic approaches.
- Proficient in conducting both individual and group therapy sessions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
