Job Title: Quality Control Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Specialist to join our team at Startec Compression & Process. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the precision, reliability, and quality of fabricated parts, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to uphold quality standards and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of fabricated components according to established standards and specifications.
  • Ensure that non-destructive and other examinations have been performed to the degree specified by the contract.
  • Perform a final dimensional and visual inspection of pressure vessels and piping before PWHT/Hydrotest.
  • Inspect pressure vessels, structural skids base frames, and pressure piping systems being fabricated or already installed.
  • Identify and document any deviations from quality standards and report accordingly.
  • Create an inspection and test plan (ITP) based on the project requirements including the applicable standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is considered an asset.
  • A minimum CWB Level 1 and/or AWS CWI.
  • Must be familiar with ASME, ASTM, ABSA PESR, and CSA codes and standards.
  • Proven experience as a quality control inspector in a fabrication environment.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in measurements and documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (i.e. ISO 9001) and inspection methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using measurement tools and equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
