Job Title: Training and Development Instructor

Hydro One Networks Inc is seeking a highly skilled Training and Development Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our Training and Development team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering training programs for our Distribution Field Business Centers (FBCs) staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop training programs, including e-learning modules, for FBC staff.
  • Develop new information resources, such as lesson plans, course content, quizzes, and exams, using training theory and technical resources.
  • Act as a training design facilitator, working with project teams, clients, and technical specialists to analyze performance problems and training requirements.
  • Ensure efficient operation of training programs by using effective project management processes and tools.
  • Setup classrooms, simulations, equipment, and supplies for courses, and make presentations to students.
  • Identify training performance problems and causes, and determine the best solution through consultations with clients and analysis techniques.
  • Prepare and issue confidential reports on students# performance and capabilities, and evaluate courses for effectiveness and efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience working in the Distribution Field Business Centers (FBCs) with expert knowledge in Distribution lines processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering training, both asynchronously and synchronously.
  • Experience using critical toolsets of the FBC, such as SAP, PCAD, ORMS CAD, GIS, and NOMS.
  • Demonstrated track record of providing customer-centric service.
Education:
  • Knowledge of distance learning technologies, training and development theory, and techniques to assist in the design and development of training programs.
  • Knowledge of electricity, vehicle mechanics, physics, and power systems related to the generation, transmission, and distribution of power.
  • Good knowledge of English to make effective presentations, prepare reports, and communicate effectively with others.
Experience:
  • Field experience in the electrical technical areas to understand the practical aspects of various occupations, related equipment, materials, methods, procedures, and safety practices.
  • Experience to be familiar with training needs, procedures, and practices, and implementing training responses.
  • Experience using fundamental toolsets of the FBC, such as SAP, PragmaCAD, ORMS CAD, GIS, and NOMS.
  • Experience working in the Distribution Field Business Centers (FBCs) with expert knowledge in Distribution lines processes.
