Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced instructor to develop and deliver our Occupation-Specific Language Training (OSLT) course. The successful candidate will have a strong background in teaching English as a Second Language and a passion for helping newcomers to Canada develop the language skills they need to succeed in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver the OSLT course according to specific course curriculum guidelines
  • Develop and deliver appropriate curriculum to meet course objectives
  • Incorporate a variety of teaching/learning strategies to meet student needs
  • Evaluate student progress/achievement
  • Provide information for program and student reporting and tracking
  • Participate in program and college activities as required
  • Create and maintain a positive learning environment
Qualifications
  • Successfully completed a three-year degree in a related field
  • TESL certification or in progress
  • 3-5 years' experience teaching English as a Second Language in a professional environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to life-long learning
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster the same in students
  • Experience in some or all of the following is an asset: curriculum development, a variety of delivery strategies, adult learning methodologies, academic advising, and student success strategies
  • Teaching and Training Adults certification is an asset
