Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mine Planning Specialist to join our team at Barrick. As a Mine Planning Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our open pit mines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and manage slope stability data collection and analysis of geologic structure, blast design, and slope monitoring
  • Inspect and communicate pit and dump inspection results
  • Provide clear and concise communication of geotechnical information to site personnel
  • Proactively improve processes related to slope monitoring and slope design
  • Understand the use of surface stability and geologic modeling software programs
  • Develop a thorough understanding of 3-D geologic model inputs and development, and their impacts on slope stability
  • Work effectively in a team environment
  • Identify and mitigate hazards to ensure a safe working environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering or a related field
  • 0-3 years of hands-on geotechnical experience at an active open pit mine site
  • Knowledge of open pit mining principles
