The Registered Care Attendant plays an essential role in our community, fostering connections and enhancing the quality of life for residents.
This position is classified as Permanent Casual (on-call).
We are seeking availability during the following shifts:
- 7am-3pm, or
- 3pm-11pm
As a Registered Care Attendant, your daily responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining accurate resident records and documentation in line with established policies and legal requirements.
- Performing medication assistance and various care tasks, such as: monitoring blood pressure, catheter care, aiding with range of motion exercises, administering medications including eye drops, inhalers, and insulin injections, as well as applying topical treatments as directed.
- Observing and reporting on resident well-being in accordance with residence policies.
- Supporting housekeeping, laundry, and other resident care tasks as needed.
- Executing all aspects of resident care as detailed in the personal service plan.
- Responding promptly to resident call bells and door alarms, providing respectful service.
- Carrying out additional duties as assigned.
Essential qualifications include:
- Successful completion of a Care Aid certificate program.
- Medication Certification.
- Current First Aid/CPR training and experience in medication assistance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
All candidates must successfully complete a Vulnerable Sector Check and a Criminal Records Check.
