Position Overview

The role of a Fish Plant Worker at Sea Star Seafoods Limited involves various tasks related to the processing of fish and seafood products. This position requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Educational Requirements

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare fish and seafood for market by cutting, cleaning, and trimming.
  • Utilize knives to scrape scales, separate fillets, and remove unwanted parts.
  • Transport fish and shellfish to designated work areas.
  • Condition fish filets for packaging or freezing processes.
  • Inspect products and packaging for defects, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Operate machinery for canning, bagging, boxing, or packaging seafood products.
  • Weigh and record the weight of fish or shellfish, packing them in ice as necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness of machines and work areas.
  • Measure and add ingredients into mixing and grinding machines.
  • Sort fish based on species, weight, and intended destination.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Capable of handling heavy loads.
  • Physically demanding work requiring manual dexterity.
  • Attention to detail and hand-eye coordination are essential.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform bending, crouching, and kneeling tasks.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
