Position Overview:
Reporting to the Facilities Manager or the Lead Building Operator, the Facilities Operations Specialist is entrusted with the comprehensive management of a regional portfolio of retail locations, focusing on building upkeep and the efficient operation of essential systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular assessments to identify and resolve operational issues, performing minor repairs and preventative maintenance as necessary.
- Ensure the seamless functioning of heating, cooling, and other fundamental building systems, creating a safe and pleasant environment for customers and staff.
- Oversee third-party service providers, ensuring they fulfill their contractual duties and deliver value-added services.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills, consistently striving to meet and exceed expectations.
- Customer-focused, prioritizing the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.
- Professional demeanor, maintaining integrity while building relationships with various stakeholders.
- Capable of setting clear objectives and driving positive results through measurable outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
- 5th or 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate or a recognized equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience as a 5th or 4th Class Power Engineer, with hands-on experience operating boilers and chillers, and familiarity with HVAC systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Solid understanding of building operations, engineering systems, and relevant building codes.
- Knowledge of facilities management principles and practices.
- Availability for on-call duties to respond to emergencies.
- Valid Driver's License and access to a vehicle.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure daily operations reflect a strong commitment to customer service.
- Supervise activities of third-party service providers, ensuring compliance with work orders.
- Conduct routine inspections and ensure maintenance logs are up-to-date.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and safety standards.
- Proactively identify and recommend equipment replacements and maintenance needs.
- Support the Facilities Manager in overseeing capital projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant execution.
