About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Operations Specialist to join our team at Angus Consulting Management Limited. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and providing exceptional service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily rounds and log readings to ensure optimal facility performance
  • Review and complete daily entries into our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and investigate any issues that may arise
  • Complete preventative and demand maintenance tasks as needed, and input histories into our CMMS
  • Start-up and shutdown building infrastructure equipment, and ensure maximum energy efficiency
  • Inspect, operate, maintain, and repair mechanical and electrical systems and equipment, including boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, pumps, generators, and life safety systems
  • Perform repairs such as replacing washers and faucets, clearing sinks, toilets, and drains, clearing grease traps and sumps, re-packing valves, replacing pumps and motors, resetting breakers, and repairing pipe systems
  • Maintain fan and air handling units, including greasing bearings, replacing filters, and inspecting and replacing belts
  • Conduct water treatment tests and generator tests
  • Troubleshoot and repair all building infrastructure equipment
  • Escalate unusual events, occurrences, or unsafe conditions to your supervisor
  • Respond to tenant requests and emergencies
  • Oversee the work of contractors and external service providers to ensure adherence to contract specifics and company and industry standards
  • Participate in meetings as required
  • Pump teardown, minor repairs, and alignment
  • Perform general building maintenance and repairs, including painting, drywall, and grounds maintenance
  • Assist other classifications and trades as required
Requirements
  • OSSGD or equivalent
  • BES I Certificate, or 4th class Operating Engineer, or provincial trades certification of qualification is an asset
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of facilities
  • Proven computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Building Automation System (BAS)
  • Willingness to work in shifts, work on weekends, and be on-call
