Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver lesson plans, lectures, and demonstrations to students with varying abilities.
  • Design, update, and construct training aids and materials to support student learning.
  • Supervise students in classrooms, labs, and work placements, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Evaluate and record student progress, using assessments, assignments, and observations to inform instruction.
  • Use instructional methodologies that cater to diverse learning needs and promote cultural sensitivity.
  • Manage the classroom to ensure an optimal learning environment, promoting student engagement and motivation.
  • Develop and deliver content that reflects the values, beliefs, and needs of a culturally diverse community.
  • Provide constructive feedback and assessment to students, promoting their growth and development.
  • Stay current with curriculum demands and make adjustments as needed to meet learner needs.
  • Develop new curriculum and maintain online materials to support student learning.
  • Be reflective and responsive to the needs of students with special learning requirements, including equity groups and diverse learners.
  • Develop working relationships with external partners and employers to support student work experience.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

  • Recognized relevant four-year degree (Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work, Bachelor of Education Degree) or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Two years recent and relevant work experience working with services to individuals with varying abilities.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective instructional ability and ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
  • Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of technology, including the internet, email, and MS Office Suite software.
  • Demonstrated valuing of diversity and commitment to promoting inclusive education.
