Position Overview:
This role is situated within the Administrative Professional Employee Group at Brock University, a prominent institution recognized as one of Canada's leading comprehensive universities. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement programs and events aimed at enhancing student engagement and success.
- Conduct research to identify effective instructional and theoretical models for program delivery.
- Collaborate with campus partners to evaluate and adapt existing initiatives to better serve student needs.
- Oversee a variety of student-focused programs, both virtual and in-person, to facilitate a smooth transition for new students.
- Lead the organization of orientation and training events that promote successful integration into university life.
- Coordinate campus-wide events to connect students with essential resources and support services.
- Manage the recruitment, training, and supervision of student leaders and volunteers involved in program activities.
- Establish assessment methods to evaluate program effectiveness, including surveys and focus groups.
- Maintain comprehensive records of student participation and engagement metrics for reporting purposes.
- Foster professional relationships with various stakeholders within the university community.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- 1-2 years of experience in a leadership capacity, particularly in student support and event management.
- Familiarity with best practices in student engagement and development.
- Proficient in event planning and execution.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
- Excellent facilitation and training abilities.
- Research-oriented with a focus on achieving best practice benchmarks.
