Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading tax engagements, providing guidance and support to staff, and developing and implementing tax strategies for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead tax engagements, including personal tax, review, and compilation engagements
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on tax matters, including research and preparation of memoranda
  • Develop and implement tax strategies for clients, including tax planning and compliance
  • Participate in special tax engagements, including research and analysis
  • Prepare and present technical sessions to staff on tax topics
  • Provide exceptional client service, including communication and relationship-building

Requirements

  • Successful completion of the Common Final Evaluation (CFE)
  • Successful completion of/or in the process of completing the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course and/or Master of Taxation Course
  • 5+ years of public accounting experience with a tax specialty
  • Robust technical knowledge of Canadian tax related issues and of GAAP requirements for tax provisions
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), Caseware/Caseview, TaxPrep, and tax research software
  • Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, project management and organizational skills
  • Professional manner, strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and demonstrated ability to work with other's effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to provide value-added service to clients and strong understanding of a client-focused fast paced work environment including related deadlines
  • Experience working with owner managed businesses considered an asset
  • A passion for tax work
