Halton Healthcare is seeking a skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Emergency Department. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and diagnose patients, developing and implementing individualized care plans to meet their unique needs.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care, including medication management, wound care, and education to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with physicians, other healthcare professionals, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices and policies.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research, technologies, and best practices, applying this knowledge to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Previous Emergency Department experience, with a strong background in triage and in-charge responsibilities.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, with ongoing maintenance.
- Completion of an on-site sponsored course within one year of hire date.
- Canadian Emergency Nursing Certification Exam (CEN) certification, with a strong preference for post-diploma Emergency courses, TNCC, ENPC, and PALS.
- Basic ECG interpretation and 12-lead ECG application and interpretation.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, with a satisfactory employment and attendance record.
