Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mold Maintenance Technician to join our team in Toronto. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing injection and compression molds used in our manufacturing processes. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of our production lines and contribute to the delivery of exceptional products.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve issues with injection and compression molding machines.
  • Remove, install, and set up injection/compression machines according to established schedules.
  • Operate material handling equipment to position machinery and parts during installation, setup, and repair.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair all injection and compression molds.
  • Safely operate machine tools and assemble/disassemble molds.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on compression and injection molds, including stripping down, cleaning, replacing date plugs, and storing molds and cold runners.
  • Collaborate with other team members during plant shutdowns or periods of machinery downtime to ensure efficient equipment restoration.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with company standards and safety practices.
  • Support the 5S program and adhere to proper chemical disposal procedures.
  • Catalog and inventory all parts and tooling related to mold service.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of injection molding machines and rubber/plastics manufacturing processes is preferred.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and possess excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
