Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Special Projects Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out various pilot projects in social housing and other activities under the department.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Meet with clients, tenants, applicants, and owners or their agents to provide guidance and support.
  2. Receive, visit, and advise clients on lease preparation, complaint management, and other government programs.
  3. Visit new tenants and welcome multi-ethnic clientele, and provide support in cases of change of dwelling for health reasons or psychosocial situations.
  4. Perform file analysis, assess client needs, match vacant dwellings, and conduct basic checks on payments to landlords.
  5. Carry out the identification and evaluation of new housing or buildings, and negotiate agreements with representatives of the private sector or paragovernmental organizations.
  6. Manage tenant and landlord complaints and crisis situations, and analyze problems to propose solutions.
  7. Ensure the rental activities of housing and parking.
  8. Participate in the development of methods, standards, and procedures, and represent the company with organizations.

Requirements

  1. Very good knowledge of communication and interviewing techniques, good knowledge of French and English, basic knowledge of mathematics, and skills for the application of laws and regulations.
  2. DEC in social assistance, social work, administrative techniques, or special education, or equivalent training.
  3. Three years of relevant experience, including two years of experience in a comparable position.
