Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Manager of Gordon Ramsay Burger, this role involves providing exceptional service to patrons within the establishment. The individual will uphold all company policies and procedures while fostering a safe and inviting atmosphere for all team members. This position is integral in promoting a culture of learning and support at Great Canadian Entertainment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests warmly, using their names when possible.
  • Guide guests to their tables; present menus and inform them of the specials of the day.
  • Describe the preparation methods of various menu items and beverages.
  • Take orders from guests and provide recommendations as needed.
  • Serve food and beverages to guests, ensuring their satisfaction throughout the meal.
  • Address any guest concerns or escalate issues to management when necessary.
  • Present the bill upon request and process payments efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness by clearing tables, removing dishes, and restocking supplies as needed.
  • Deliver food to tables promptly.
  • Carry out opening and closing tasks as required.
  • Assist fellow servers by covering their sections when needed.
  • Use sound judgment when serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Communicate effectively with all relevant operational departments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with guests, ownership, and team members.
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and other statutory requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or directed.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Availability to work evenings and weekends is essential.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a serving role is required.
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on service orientation.
  • Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems is preferred.
  • Certification in Serving it Right is necessary.
  • Ability to obtain a Gaming License successfully.
  • Commitment to exceeding customer expectations through timely service.

Work Environment

  • The role involves working in a dynamic casino, restaurant, or bar setting, requiring prolonged periods of standing and walking, as well as flexibility with non-traditional hours.
