Department Head

We are seeking a highly experienced Department Manager to join our team at Easy Skill. As a key member of our Construction Support Department, you will play a critical role in the design and delivery of our Major Component Replacement (MCR) construction program and projects.

• Leadership and Oversight: Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the Construction Support Department, ensuring the successful delivery of projects and programs.
• Organizational Planning: Develop and implement organizational plans to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
• Nuclear Safety Culture: Contribute to the development and growth of a strong Nuclear Safety Culture by communicating the Nuclear Safety message, setting an example for nuclear safety, and demonstrating commitment through words and actions.
• Engineering and Construction Management: Provide oversight of policies, processes, and procedures that govern engineering and construction management, including engineering change control, constructability, construction methods, workface tolerances, contingency engineering, field engineering, building information modeling, return to service, human performance, corrective action programs, commissioning, start-up, testing, and closeout.
• Subordinate Management: Direct and hold subordinate management accountable for delivery of their assigned missions and hold such accountability for the construction lifecycle from inception to closeout.
• Expert Counsel: Offer expert counsel to colleagues and department managers in highly technical and complex engineering and construction theory, practices, and methodologies, including design of safety-critical systems such as in nuclear power and an understanding of integrating construction management systems, principles, and practices to support successful project execution.
• Regulatory Compliance: Oversee the maintenance of compliance with Environmental and Health & Safety regulations and promote and uphold the Company's mission of Safety first, our number one Value.
• Representation: Represent the MCR in matters of construction efforts as required at meetings, briefings, and conferences with officials of labor, federal, provincial, or local authority, including regulatory bodies.
• Corporate Governance: Serve on or chair corporate governance boards as required.
• Alignment with Corporate Strategy: Collaborate with the department managers to ensure engineering and construction efforts remain constantly aligned with and in support of the overall corporate strategy and business plan.

• Experience: A period of over 10 years, up to and including 12 years as a mid-level or higher manager in a construction-related function, is considered necessary to gain this experience. At least 5 years must be spent on complex design-build projects in a safety-critical environment, such as a nuclear-licensed site.
• Delivering Engineering and Construction Services: Demonstrable record of delivering engineering and construction services for major, high-value (100 million+) capital construction programs and projects within the expected scope, quality, schedule, and budget.
• Communications and Leadership Skills: Highly developed communications, negotiation, conflict resolution, and leadership skills to include complex stakeholder interfaces (regulators, sponsors, users/owners, clients, local authorities, and public interfaces).
• Education: University degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of education and work experience in a related field.
