Job Overview:

As a key member of the vehicle project team, the Technical Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the Vehicle Technical Manager. This position involves a variety of responsibilities that are crucial for the successful execution of automotive projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a deputy to the Vehicle Technical Manager, ensuring effective coordination of project activities.
  • Oversee vehicle composition, focusing on core structure and interchangeability.
  • Facilitate product and process convergence by addressing critical issues during zone meetings.
  • Lead the organization and creation of Connections and Fasteners, ensuring all technical requirements are met.
  • Schedule and manage Connections/Fasteners meetings to streamline the technical core team's efforts and resolve any obstacles.
  • Maintain ownership of the Connections/Fasteners dashboard, collaborating with the Technical Manager to define follow-up actions and key performance indicators.
  • Prepare and coordinate Change Management meetings to address modifications and updates.
  • Continue the coordination of Change Management across multiple sites, sharing necessary modifications with relevant teams.
  • Contribute to quality convergence by aligning part modifications with project timelines.
  • Support the coordination of product and process convergence, particularly in Welding, Painting, and Assembly.
  • Participate in organizing modification batches based on Change Management insights.
  • Assist in resolving major defects related to Painting, Welding, and Assembly processes.
  • Coordinate vehicle rework activities throughout the project lifecycle, including both used and new vehicles.
Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of years of experience in the automotive industry, specifically in product development engineering at an OEM or large tier.
  • A self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with strong process thinking capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Proficient written and presentation skills are essential.
  • Advanced to expert proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to effectively interface with all management levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience across the full program lifecycle.
  • Previous launch experience is advantageous.
  • Understanding of manufacturing process fundamentals.
  • Quick adaptability to proprietary software.
Educational Background:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
