Position Overview

Emcon Services Inc. is seeking a dedicated and skilled Highway Snow Removal Operator to join our team. This role is essential for maintaining safe road conditions during winter months.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: Willingness to train candidates with relevant experience
Work Environment
  • Cold and refrigerated conditions
  • Exposure to hot environments
  • Working in noisy settings
  • Potential for odours
  • Wet and damp conditions
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform checks, lubrication, refueling, and cleaning of equipment
  • Operate a variety of vehicles and machinery
  • Report any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor
Required Certifications
  • AZ class license
  • Air Brakes Endorsement
  • Class 1/1F/A Licence (for semi-trailer trucks)
  • Class 3/3F/DF Licence (for trailer trucks and vehicles with more than 3 axles)
  • DZ class license
  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
Equipment Experience
  • Experience operating snowploughs
Safety and Security
  • Driving record check (abstract) required
  • Drug testing mandatory
Transportation Information
  • Vehicle provided by the employer
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
Physical Requirements
  • Attention to detail is crucial
  • Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • Good hand-eye coordination
