Job Summary
The Warehouse Technician will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and products within our warehouse operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Receiving, inspecting, and storing inbound materials in a safe and compliant manner.
- Supplying materials to manufacturing, packaging, and other internal customers.
- Performing shift start inspections and maintaining material handling systems.
- Contributing to the achievement of Apotex's strategic objectives.
- Working in accordance with regulatory requirements and Apotex's health and safety policies.
Key Responsibilities
The Warehouse Technician will be responsible for:
- Unloading, verifying, inspecting, cleaning, sorting, and receiving raw materials and components using appropriate material handling equipment.
- Identifying and addressing exception situations, such as under/over quantity, damaged shipments, or contaminated materials.
- Transferring products from the receiving/sampling area to the appropriate location.
- Distributing received mail, documents, packages, and supplies to identified departments/personnel.
- Managing the dock schedule and providing feedback to procurement on vendor performance.
- Organizing and maintaining adequate quantities of receiving and warehouse supplies.
- Following procedures and logistics flow for exceptional materials/products, such as class III/IV capsules, waste, and hazardous materials.
- Delivering materials to manufacturing, packaging, and other departments, and updating inventory using RF and/or SAP.
- Ensuring transfer orders are completed in SAP for inventory accuracy and as per service level agreement.
- Locating and retrieving products for sampling, processing tote and bottle tote movements, and staging totes for transfer to other buildings.
- Receiving and putting away bottle totes to tote high bay.
- Performing basic shipping tasks, such as interplant shipments, outbound courier, and simple deliveries.
- Cycle counting and maintaining accurate inventory using SAP.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Grade 12 diploma or equivalency.
- Fluent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Competent operation of material handling equipment, such as Raymond and Cleco MHEs.
- Intermediate knowledge of computer operations, including SAP modules for warehouse operations and RF/warehouse databases.
- Ability to work various shifts and/or overtime when needed.
- Previous warehouse experience is an asset.
