Job Title: Residential Homes Contractor

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Residential Homes Contractor to join our team at CF Contractors Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and preparing work schedules, selecting and employing trade subcontractors, and coordinating their activities. They will also be responsible for inspecting subcontractors' work to ensure quality and conformity with plans and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and prepare work schedules to ensure timely completion of projects
  • Select and employ trade subcontractors and coordinate their activities to meet project requirements
  • Inspect subcontractors' work to ensure quality and conformity with plans and specifications
  • Develop and implement marketing and advertising strategies to promote our services
  • Plan and manage budgets to ensure financial stability and growth
  • Perform various trade work during home construction or renovation activities
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers to support project delivery
  • Train staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties
  • Develop and implement business plans to drive growth and expansion
  • Develop and implement financial and operating plans to ensure financial stability and growth
  • Prepare estimates and bids for home construction, renovation, and restoration projects
  • Work with customers, architects, and engineers to ensure plans and specifications meet project requirements
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors to support project delivery
  • Ensure that construction permits are obtained to comply with regulatory requirements
  • Develop and implement health and safety plans to ensure a safe working environment
  • Human resource planning and development to support project delivery
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations to ensure project success
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and a large workload. They will be required to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail to ensure project success.

Requirements:
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in residential construction or renovation
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Work site environment: Outdoors, dusty, hot, noisy, and odours
  • Work setting: Residential renovation, various locations
  • Tasks: Plan and prepare work schedules, select and employ trade subcontractors, inspect subcontractors' work, develop and implement marketing and advertising strategies, plan and manage budgets, perform various trade work, recruit, hire, and supervise staff, train staff, develop and implement business plans, develop and implement financial and operating plans, prepare estimates and bids, work with customers, architects, and engineers, prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors, ensure that construction permits are obtained, develop and implement health and safety plans, human resource planning and development, plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations
